Tasmanian Steamfest - Sheffield

A morning at the Steamfest. A bit nostalgic. I was made and built in the same city as many of the exhibits, though not quite at the same time. The foundry was still there in my boyhood. The Pearn Bros. Foden machine was built in a town around which I spent a Winter doing a geophysical survey. Both factories are long gone now. The 5/8 scale model Series 1 Land Rover was an excellent working replica of one I had in 1967 - drove it to Ireland and used the five gallons of spare engine oil I took for the trip (burned, not the famous Land Rover drips!)!
