1952 3rd NE Leeds Cubs - my introduction to Scouting, which went on from Cubs to Scouts and Senior Scouts. Back as a Scout Leader in Zeehan about 1974, then Group Leader and District Leader, until moving to Sydney. Scouting on the West Coast of Tasmania then was a a little different to most other areas, given the ready access to wild places and opportunties for bush-craft, the distant bureaucracy and a Chief Commissioner who recognised a good thing when he saw it; being much closer to Baden Powell's vision than what was possible in most other environments.
